HughesNet is America’s #1 Choice for Satellite Internet!

HughesNet® FAQ

How does satellite Internet work?

Essentially your device will emit a signal that is then transmitted to a satellite dish via your modem. The signal is then sent to an orbiting satellite that relays that signal to your satellite provider. From there, the process is reversed, from provider, to the orbiting satellite, to your dish, through your modem and back to your device. This entire process takes a fraction of a second, providing there is no outside interference.
